This time around we're going with a different look and feel compared to the last project. On this guitar the top will be Bear Claw Spruce (which is Sitka Spruce with dramatic "claw" marks in the grain) and the back & sides are going to be Claro Walnut. The Walnut has a very striking appearance with shades of purple, gray, and green as well as a bold, flamed look. I think the combination of these woods is going to make for a really beautiful instrument. I'm planning to use Koa for the binding, and the inlay rosette around the soundhole will have a simple ring of Lacewood instead of the traditional ring of Abalone. We're also going with a dreadnought size to add more bass and low end to compensate for the typically brighter sound of walnut.
